Currie Dixon's Yukon Party won 14 of 21 seats and 51.9% of the vote on Nov. 3, 2025, forming a majority government; the NDP under Kate White won 6 seats (37.8%) and became the Official Opposition, while the governing Liberals fell to 1 seat (10.2%) and leader Mike Pemberton lost his race. The election was the first on a 21-seat map that added two Whitehorse districts. Pemberton resigned as Liberal leader on Jan. 21, 2026 and Vuntut Gwitchin MLA Debra-Leigh Reti became interim leader. A plebiscite held with the election favoured ranked voting 56% to 44%, and the government has said it will keep first-past-the-post.
How we build this
Public numbers, reported the same way for every party.
Every figure links to its source: Elections Yukon, the Yukon Legislative Assembly (36th Legislature), published polls and news reports. The poll average is a plain mean of polls whose fieldwork ended within 30 days of the newest poll, or the last three polls if fewer. We don't weight pollsters, project seats or endorse anyone.
Churchill Strategy is an Edmonton event production and campaign firm. We have worked with conservative parties in Alberta, Saskatchewan and federally, and with a campaign in Alberta's 2026 referendum. That is why we keep this page to sourced facts. See something wrong?
